Each week, Suite 101 ranks the top 16 NASCAR Nextel Cup drivers based on results and performance.
1. (2) 17-Matt Kenseth-
Matt Kenseth finished ahead of Jimmie Johnson for the second consecutive week.
2. (1) 48-Jimmie Johnson-
Once again, Jimmie Johnson and the #48 team overcame an obstacle to rally back into the top ten at Pocono. This time, a pit road speeding penalty was the impediment.
3. (3) 9-Kasey Kahne-
Kasey Kahne notched another top ten finish, which moves him up to fifth in the NASCAR Nextel Cup standings. That bodes well in his race to the Nextel Cup Chase For the Championship.
4. (6) 20-Tony Stewart-
It appears as if Tony Stewart's shoulder injury isn't going to be of much hindrance after his performance at Pocono. The road course of Infineon next weekend will be the true test as to how healthy Stewart is.
5. (4) 6-Mark Martin-
You have to like Mark Martin's chances this weekend at Michigan.
6. (5) 8-Dale Earnhardt Jr-
It wasn't a very productive weekend for Dale Earnhardt Jr, but it wasn't disastrous either.
7. (8) 31-Jeff Burton-
Jeff Burton may have been the only driver that could have posed a serious threat to Denny Hamlin. Unfortunately, he was penalized for speeding on pit road.
8. (7) 29-Kevin Harvick-
Echoed sentiments from comment # 6 (Dale Earnhardt Jr).
9. (9) 16-Greg Biffle-
Greg Biffle overcame brake troubles, and a flat tire late in the race and finished a solid sixth place finish at Pocono
10. (12) 11-Denny Hamlin-
Well, it will take a total collapse for Denny Hamlin to finish anywhere but first in the NASCAR Rookie of the Year race, or a complete turnaround for Clint Bowyer.
11. (11) 5-Kyle Busch-
Could Kyle Busch and Casey Mears actually coexist at Hendrick Motorsports?
12. (10) 24-Jeff Gordon-
His brutal hit on Sunday at Pocono even disturbed the anti-Jeff Gordon fans, even though they may not admit it.
13. (14) 99-Carl Edwards-
Carl Edwards moved up a spot in the Suite 16 rankings, mainly because of performance. His pit crew let him down at Pocono.
14. (13) 26-Jamie McMurray-
Jamie McMurray just cannot seem to get a grip on the Roush Racing power that he is provided with.
15. (NR) 2-Kurt Busch-
That was Kurt Busch's best performance since his win at Bristol back in April.
16. (16) 12-Ryan Newman-
Ryan Newman easily had a top ten finish in the bag, until that last caution came out. Don't look now, but the Penske Racing boys seem to be getting their act together.
tie (NR) 10-Scott Riggs-
Scott Riggs has seemingly found a home at Evernham Motorsports.
