Busch Irks Biffle

Kurt Busch sent Greg Biffle into the wall on lap 82 of the Samsung Radio Shack 500 at Texas. This wasn't the first time in 2006 that Busch has ruffled the feathers of a former teammate.

You know, is it just me or is Kurt Busch picking on his former teammates. At Daytona, he and Jamie McMurray got into to each other, which in that case, Busch received the short-end. McMurray and Busch have never actually been teammates, but the guys who prepare the #26 (former #97) are Busch's former comrades. A month later at Bristol, Busch gave Matt Kenseth a good old fashion bump 'n' run en route to his Food City 500 victory. At Martinsville, Busch slammed into the side of Jeff Burton. Burton currently drives for Richard Childress Racing, but from 2001 to 2004, they were teammates at Roush Racing.

And that brings us to Texas. On lap 82 of the Samsung/Radio Shack 500, Greg Biffle had attempted the pass on Kurt Busch, who was a lap behind. But before he could clear Busch, he was brusquely sent into the wall. His premature departure from the Samsung/Radio Shack 500 didn't sit well.

"He just ran into the back of me and turned me into the fence," he said. "I just watched the video and it's exactly what I thought happened".

Usually in circumstances such as this, the slower car lifts off the throttle, which allows the faster car the position. Busch, who was obviously frustrated, never lifted and therefore, Biffle and the #16 team find themselves in a quagmire.

Busch was impenitent as he took a page out of Jimmie Johnson's book and rebuffed any responsibility for his actions.

"I don't know what he was doing," Busch said. "I was a lapped car trying to get out of the way. He had trouble passing the 21, and he checked up going down the straightaway. I tried not to get into him. I had nowhere to go."

Biffle wasn't the only one who was miffed. His girlfriend Nicole Lunders marched right over the Busch's fiancé Eva Bryan and it wasn't to say 'Your hair looks pretty like that'. Ms. Lunders looked like she was ready to take on Ms. Bryan in the nearest mud pit. Now, that would have been entertaining!

Newman and Marlin

Ryan Newman's on-track struggles have brought out the comedian in him. He has always had a dry sense of humor, but is quote on Sunday regarding Marlin's hair piece was Kevin Harvick-like.

Quote of the week

"I saw Casey Mears get sideways, but I am pretty sure Sterling Marlin's hairpiece just got in his eyes and he couldn't see what was going on," Newman said.
